Regularly scheduled annual festivals and other events draw increasing numbers of food and wine aficionados, fishermen, film and fitness buffs, lovers of music, motorcycles and art, students of cultural anthropology, sailors, sports fans, cowboys, jocks and more.
Other regularly scheduled events happen with much greater frequency, including the biweekly Downtown Art Walks – a highlight of Puerto Vallarta’s high season, where old and new friends get together over free cocktails and good art in more than a dozen world-class galleries – and the twice-weekly Municipal Band concert in the Main Square.
As well as events put on by the city’s culture department, new businesses hold frequent “openings” or inauguration parties to which the general public is invited. And several Puerto Vallarta restaurants and other venues are known for the variety and frequency of the events they host, ranging from lively discussions about this town to fashion shows and wine tastings. There’s always something interesting going on.
